Fredericton Kiter - Spot Locations
Hi all,
I'm a new kiter living in Fredericton. Been trying to amass a map of good kiting locations (snowkiting and kiteboarding) where I can meet up with others.
In quickly looking through the forums I see two places mentioned; old dump and shediac bay. Can anyone explain with a little more detail where these spots (and launch points) are?
Appreciate it,
-S

Re: Fredericton Kiter - Spot Locations
Hey dude, welcome. I have a map posted on my site with many of the local spots for snow & water:
http://www.darksidekites.ca/local.html
In the winter, spots are all around, you're just looking for an open area without obstacles (trees, building etc) between you and the wind source. The river there must be killer when frozen.
I don't know of any summer spots, but any open beach on the river, Macdequac or Grand Lake with cross or cross on shore wind should be good as long as they're not too crowded.
Keep checking for posts here, we always welcome newcomers & I'm sure if you're lonely, some of us could look into a trip up sometime... road trips are always fun
Cheers,
Mike
