Kick Ass session in Kouchibouquac Park - Calender Beach
Well, someday you will all want to try something different and one of those should be Kouchibouquac on winds that have some east in it!
I was on my way back from Miramichi and stoped in to Calender beach to check thing out and to my benefit, conditions where perfect.
Check out this link if it works...

On Nort East winds, one can go up and down the dunes for miles in waist deep or at times 6 inches - mirror flat.
Just a real good ride....would've been nice to share it with you guys.

Amazing spot Dan and about 1h15min from Moncton. Worth every minute of it when the direction is right.

Not sure if I got the link right, but do you take the road in the upper left corner of the map to get to the beach?
I'm definitely intrigued. I'm in for a road trip if anyone decides to go next time the wind is good.

That's correct Mike - top left corner...simply drive in to the park, heading towards the camp sites and before you get to kelly's beach, there is a sign the says Calenders beach. Drive straight down and you will hit the water. Waist deep!

I'm intrigued as well! Defiantly worth a try this summer! After having experienced the shallow waters of Hatteras for trying out new tricks it's hard to be back to this deep water stuff we have in Saint John! I imagine that the water in there must be pretty calm as well!

Re: Kick Ass session in Kouchibouquac Park - Calender Beach
Hi there!
Hehe.. that's my local spot. Actually the entire bay to the south of Callanders is where I normally go. Callanders is awesome in north east winds as you can cross over to the dune on the other side and play back an forth between the main land and the dune or... if you like waves... you can cross the dune and go on the ocean side.
In the summer we often get westerly winds so I usually go to the dune just south of the one in front of Callanders. It's similar to Callanders in that the water is waist deep for miles but the spot is bigger and further away from the main land so it's not as gusty.
If the wind is there this weekend or any other weekend for that matter... i'm planning on going so if anyone is interested give me a call 523-5909.
